Physiotherapy for Qantas Health Insurance Members in Seaton
nib First Choice usually applies
Points on the premium, and an nib First Choice provider at the other end.
UpPlus Physiotherapy in Seaton treats Qantas Insurance members and claims at reception through HICAPS, so your rebate comes off immediately and you pay only the gap. No referral is needed to book.
UpPlus Physiotherapy is an nib First Choice provider, and First Choice benefits usually extend to Qantas health members. If you chose the policy for the points, the network benefit is a second advantage you may not have known you had.
Claiming your Qantas Insurance rebate at UpPlus
We claim at reception through HICAPS, so your Qantas Insurance rebate is deducted immediately and you pay only the difference by card. Nothing is posted, nothing is reimbursed weeks later, and you leave with the claim already settled.
- Bring your fund card — the physical card or the one in your fund's app.
- No referral required. Physiotherapy is a direct-access profession in Australia.
- Pay the gap only, by card, on the day.
- Tell us if you are near your annual limit so we can plan treatment around it.

How your physiotherapy benefit works
Because nib underwrites this cover, physiotherapy benefits work the way nib's do: a benefit paid per consultation and an annual limit, both set by the tier you hold. Some policies apply a physiotherapy sub-limit inside a broader extras pool, which means your physiotherapy allowance can run out while the overall limit still shows a balance.
That is the figure worth asking about specifically. Extras waiting periods also apply on a new policy or after an upgrade, so confirm the date you become eligible before booking a course of treatment rather than after the first visit.
Who this cover is for
Qantas Health Insurance is underwritten by nib and administered through nib's systems, with Qantas Points earned on premiums.
This cover is underwritten by nib — see our nib page for how the First Choice network works.
What we treat
Our Seaton clinic on Trimmer Parade sees back and neck pain, shoulder and knee problems, sporting injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, work injuries and persistent pain. Alongside hands-on treatment we offer dry needling, shockwave therapy and hydrotherapy, and we see patients from Grange, West Lakes, Findon, Fulham Gardens and Port Adelaide.
Qantas Insurance physiotherapy questions
Is my cover actually underwritten by nib?
Yes. The policy is sold under this brand but nib underwrites and administers it, which is why the claim goes through nib's systems when we swipe your card.
Does nib's First Choice network apply to me?
It usually does, because we are a First Choice provider and partner-brand members generally access the network on the same basis. We confirm it at reception before you commit to anything — there is no risk in simply bringing the card in.
Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?
No. Physiotherapy is a primary contact profession in Australia, so you can book directly with us. A GP referral only becomes relevant when the treatment is funded by Medicare, DVA or WorkCover rather than your private extras.
What if I have already used my annual physiotherapy limit?
You can still be treated — you simply pay the full fee for those visits with no rebate. Tell us if you are close to your limit and we will plan your treatment around it, which usually means spacing visits and giving you more to do at home between them.
Do waiting periods apply to physiotherapy?
Usually yes, on a new policy or after an upgrade. Extras waiting periods for physiotherapy are commonly two months, though this varies by fund and by policy. Your fund can tell you the exact date you become eligible.
Contacting Qantas Insurance
We can tell you our fee. Only Qantas Insurance can tell you your rebate, your remaining annual limit and whether any waiting period still applies — so if you want to know your exact out-of-pocket before you book, they are the ones to ask.
